Today, with the rapid advancement of satellite technology, anyone can watch any TV programs around the world. You can even watch live television coverage of major sporting events in the comfort of your own home.

To watch satellite TV, requires specialized hardware known as PCTV cards installed in your PC to receive satellite TV feed. There are 2 types, one is external, the other is internal. External PCTV cards generally come in a box where you can connect to a PC via USB. The other end is connected to the telephone line or cable line depending on the type of broadband access are subscribing. Wireless versions are also available.

2) Computer Configuration

Most of the PCTV cards have a minimum PC configuration. Normally, you need a Pentium III 1GHz CPU or higher at least 128 MB of RAM, running on Windows 98/2000/XP and have at least 1 USB port for external PCTV cards. It would also require a CD-ROM to install the PCTV card drivers and graphics software. You also need a sound card installed in your PC if you want the audio.

PCTV Some cards also allows the ability to record programs on your computer, but keep in mind, it requires a large amount of storage space on your hard disk.
